Overview
In line with Women's History Month, the group exhibition Suppressed Memories at Gazelli Art House Baku features seven talented female artists, including Aidan Salakhova, Sitara Ibrahimbayli, Ramina Saadatkhan, Fakhriyya Mammadova, Afet Baghirova, Ayna Moazzen, and Narmina Khalilova.
This group exhibition challenge social norms and cultural biases related to gender and race. From Salakhova's powerful social messages to Khalilova's concept of beauty in black and white, and Baghirova's linguistic research to Ibrahimbayli's gender-based formulae in clothing, the exhibition unveils the intimate consciousness outside established patterns. Mammadova's Transformation further emphasises the fundamental image in art and history, where a woman's body manifests life milieu-free.
