Join us for an artist talk celebrating Sleeping Rivers, Vanishing Seas, featuring artist Michael Takeo Magruder in conversation with Farah Alakbarli, Director & Curator of YARAT Contemporary Art Space, Baku, Azerbaijan.
Sleeping Rivers, Vanishing Seas explores Azerbaijan’s culturally significant and environmentally fragile landscapes through the lens of climate change, digital imaging, and emerging technologies.
The discussion coincides with Magruder's exhibition in the Project Space at Gazelli Art House (29 June - 11 July) which marks a key stage in the development of a new body of work responding to the changing landscape of Azerbaijan. Visitors will have the opportunity to view work-in-progress studies alongside related recent projects that utilise digital photography and bespoke Al techniques.
