OlIVIA STERLING

British, 1996

Olivia Sterling lives and works in London. She holds an MA in Painting from Royal College of Art, London. Sterling’s paintings consist of everyday scenes that explore whiteness and subjugation. Compositions are laced with violence or sex and sweetened by comedy and cartoonish imagery. Bodily matter is often mistaken for edible objects, tethering consumption and objectification together. Solo exhibitions include: Pity the Meat!, East Gallery, Norwich University of the Arts, Norwich (2026) Your Cheeks Are Wine, Meyer Riegger, Basel (2024); Manslaughter, Guts Gallery, London (2022); Yowl, Nevven, Gothenburg (2022); Really Rough Scrubbing Brush, CCA Goldsmiths, London (2021); White Bread, Cob Gallery, London (2021).
