PRELUDE TO SPECTRA
Performed on the front of the Art San Fransisco / Silicon Valley 2015 art fair, the public participation piece uses the elements key to Walter & Zoniel’s work, of fun and surrealism and working on reassigning meaning to buildings that are familiar to us in a different context.
The artists performed a prelude to their site-specific installation planned for Liverpool Biennial 2016, where the piece will be performed on an iconic building in the city center. The building will be covered in paint by the artists using a plethora of vessels and means to launch colours directly at it.
The piece works on evoking a sense of mischief and its relationship to inspiration and creativity. By crossing the lines of what is normally sanctioned and allowed, those interacting with the work are momentarily set free of some of the constraints of the everyday norm.
