Join us at Gazelli Art House for a special conversation with Allen Jones RA, marking his first solo exhibition with the gallery, In Town Tonight.
Bringing together a substantial body of new work made between 2024 and 2026 alongside significant works from across his career, the exhibition explores Jones's enduring fascination with the human figure, performance and the relationship between image and object. From theatrical shaped-canvas paintings to sculptural works and shadow photographs, In Town Tonight demonstrates an artist whose visual language continues to evolve after more than six decades of practice.
The conversation will be with Edith Devaney, Artistic Director of the Malta International Contemporary Art Space (MICAS) and former Senior Curator at the Royal Academy of Arts, where she worked for over twenty years. During her tenure, she curated major exhibitions including Jasper Johns: Something Resembling Truth (2017), Abstract Expressionism (2016) and David Hockney: A Bigger Picture (2012). Her extensive curatorial experience spans some of the most significant figures in modern and contemporary art, including a major George Condo retrospective at the Musée d'Art Moderne in Paris (2025–26).
The discussion will offer an opportunity to explore Jones's remarkable career, his continued engagement with the human figure and the ideas underpinning his latest body of work.
