Combining digital Jacquard weaving with hand-dyed fibres, metallic threads and sculptural interventions, her practice reveals intricate relationships between technology and ecology.
"The textile Particle Warp (2019) was inspired by the music composition 'Upon Silence' by British composer George Benjamin, which sets the poem 'A Long Legged Fly' by William Butler Yeats, to music. The idea expressed was the layering of experiences, with the appearance of calm on the surface of a stream in which a long legged fly rests, bobbing gently in the flow. Simultaneously there is an intense activity in the churning water underneath the surface. How to portray this with color, shape and textural variation in the intensity of the woven surface?"
