draw-something (2004-present) was inspired by my desire to better appreciate and understand Harold Cohen's AARON programme, which I had been aware of since childhood. The version seen here, draw-something-onchain, is an early JavaScript implementation that has been modified to use the Art Blocks token hash as its initial random state seed.

To create a drawing, draw-something-onchain starts by placing random lines within the format bounds to create a guide form or skeleton. It then draws around this using an algorithm that was derived from observing my own hand while drawing. Finally it colours the resulting drawing using colours chosen randomly in the Hue/Saturation/Lightness colour space. This generates intriguing colour schemes varying from pastel to psychedelic.

This process functions as as both drafting and sketching, abstraction and representation. It is, as much of my art is, a model of almost precisely how art is not made. Saying how is left as an exercise for the viewer.
