Untitled is a laser-engraved print on cracked industrial plaster repurposed from a demolition site in Hackney Wick. Existing as a physical object and a symbol of the spiritual importance of the land, the sculpture depicts a compound of the most powerful and transformative natural plants in the biosphere (now lost to most cultures) juxtaposed with the symbols of contemporary destructive cultural and ecological practices carried by the territory where the object was found.

Hackney Wick is the landmark where plastic was invented and the term ‘petrol’ coined; it holds a long rich history of industry, enterprise, manufacture, and trade. During post-industrial times it was the host of the highest density of artists in Europe, Now being eradicated by aggressive gentrification.
