This video is from Rosie Gibbens' series Planned Obsolescence, inspired by the outdated joke of an office worker photographing their own body parts. Melding bodies with machines, Gibbens produces a low-tech cyborg of sorts. UV Set Copy shows a visual of a chequered digital scan of the artist's own body, and beside it a filmed recreation of the scene with Gibbens decorated in off-kilter body paint. The series conveys an apprehension about a future where our bodies become increasingly combined with technology, and therefore reliant on the companies who manufacture it.
