ALEXANDER DUNCAN | WINDOW PROJECT | GAZELLI ART HOUSE

We are excited to announce that Alexander Duncan who recently graduated from the Royal College of Art will be taking over the windows of Gazelli Art House in our next Window Project starting August 17th!

Selected amongst applicants from various art institutions responding to an open call, Duncan launches the Gazelli Art House Window Project’s new concept where MA/post-graduate students are invited to display their works on the gallery’s frontage, providing an opportunity for graduate talents and emerging artists to present a body of work on a quarterly basis on the Dover Street gallery’s window space for the duration of 3 weeks. The inauguration for this year’s new format will take place August 17th2015. A panel selection served as an independent committee comprising of Visual Arts Editor and Independent Curator Francesca Gavin*, Eugenio Re Rebaudengo* the founder of the online platform ARTUNER, and Elephant Magazine’s arts writer Molly Taylor.* This quarter’s winner Alexander Duncan, a recent selected participant of Whitechapel Gallery’s London Open, will be developing a new body of work using video and vinyl to explore the notion of transparency of the visible surface. For this project, the gallery will provide Alexander Duncan with full artistic ownership of the window spaces, with a grant to cover materials, and costs.
