Speakers:
Lenny Moss, currently a professor of philosophy at the University of Exeter, and a former biomedical research scientist, completed doctoral degrees in biochemistry at UC Berkeley and philosophy at Northwestern University. His earlier book *What Genes Can’t Do* offered a wide-ranging critique of “informational preformationism”. His subsequent work has been concerned with questions of nature and normativity , engages and expresses, a combination of theoretical biology, Frankfurt School critical theory, and philosophical anthropology.
Robert Pepperell is Professor of Fine Art at Cardiff School of Art & Design and leader of Fovolab, a multidisciplinary research laboratory that integrates art and science. He has exhibited widely and produced numerous academic articles and books, including The Posthuman Condition: Consciousness beyond the brain (1995/2003).
David Roden has worked as a Lecturer and Associate Lecturer in Philosophy at the Open University. He is author of Posthuman Life: Philosophy at the Edge of the Human (published by Routledge 2014). His research has addressed posthumanism, philosophical naturalism, cyberculture, deconstruction, the metaphysics of computer music and new realism.
