Libby Heaney | Qlimate Tongues

Libby Heaney is currently exhibiting at the ArtScience Museum in Singapore, as part of a global initiative exploring the convergence of quantum computing, art, and culture in the digital age.

Presented during the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (2025), Qlimate Tongues (2024) is a multi-channel sound installation that examines the entangled relationships between climate, ecology, and quantum technologies.

Featuring AI-generated, hybrid human and non-human voices—drawn from chants, birdsong, lab machinery, and water—combined with quantum-computed soundscapes, the work creates an immersive sonic environment that reflects the surreal, non-linear logic of quantum systems. Through these layered audio patterns, Qlimate Tongues invites new ways of sensing time, identity, and our relationship with the natural world.
