Michelangelo Pistoletto’s mirror paintings are the foundation of his oeuvre; a central motif that he has not parted from since 1961 and returns to time and time again. Activating the dimension of time, directly including the viewer, and joining static and dynamic polarities, this technique transforms the two-dimensional aesthetic plane. In this mirrored multiple Pistoletto calls upon the convention of still life, setting an arrangement of sunflowers on a table positioned in the viewer’s immediate foreground.
