In Play I utilised a discarded pawn that was turned on the lathe by one of the boys at Harrow. Onto this enlarged chess piece, I carved the words 'PLAY...
In Play I utilised a discarded pawn that was turned on the lathe by one of the boys at Harrow. Onto this enlarged chess piece, I carved the words "PLAY WITH ME", to further elucidate the concept 'Art as Play' - something on going without beginning or end. So with the final uncanny antithesis, I finish by recognising that work for me is play but then in turn, play for me is work - it is looking every day to find uncanny objects and ideas that were cast out and to bring them back in.
