P. 138 JMF: Often in terms of process, after a period of working solely with relief I am driven to re-engage with forms in the round. Permission is something quite childlike but that’s what I felt I needed and got, as I did not want to imbue the piece with any negative thoughts, intensions or memories. My father sat for the sketches from which I made the sculpture.
