“Torpunk” is Farhad’s interpretation of Dadaistic digital collages. He combines the Azeri word ‘Tor’ which means spider’s web, and the English term ‘Web Punk’ (the early Internet subculture from the 90’s popular among the Azeri youth of the time).
“Torpunk” reacts to the mainstream combining chaotic internet references with symbols of Azeri pop culture: it’s a satire of the now obsolete Azerbaijani music scene.
