On Friday June 12th, Gazelli Art House hosted its first unmissable event from the two-part finissage of the online exhibition Borders. Artist Khaleb Brooks presented his performance interrogating the notions of systematic oppression as well as the idea of going back to “normal” in our society, as the world as we know it changes forever.
Khaleb Brooks is a multi-disciplinary artist and researcher exploring blackness, gender and the differences between memory and history. Through painting, printmaking, performance and video he asks what tools of liberation, grief and healing exist when there is no agency.
